In loving memory of Sergt. Percy Horace James Ellis aged 23 1st/4th Dorset Territorials Attached to the 2nd Dorset Regt. 6th Poona Division Bell ringer in this church 1911 - 13 Sailed for India 1914. Taken prisoner at Kut 1916. Presumed to have died at Adana, Turkey, as prisoner of war 1917 "Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends" St John XV.13.
